Martin Williams

Director

Martin is Managing Director at Saunders Partnership, is a Chartered Architect and has a Masters Degree in Urban Design. Before joining Saunders he worked in private practice on retail, supermarket, commercial, leisure, housing, industrial, healthcare and mixed use schemes. Currently involved in master planning, town centre regeneration and residential projects, Martin enjoys the challenge of integrating innovative developments into existing and new communities. Recent successes include a town centre regeneration masterplan for Hoddesdon the Crown Centre project in Stourbridge, a bespoke house in St. Albans as well as several residential schemes.

Steve Hutchinson

BA(Hons) - MA RIBA

Director

Stephen joined Saunders Partnership in 1994, becoming Associate Director in 1998 and a Director in 2002. He is a qualified Architect and also has an MA in Architecture and Town Planning.

Stephen’s track record covers a wide range of industry sectors, including retail, housing, commercial, industrial and leisure, at feasibility, planning and construction stages. Within the practice Stephen manages an architectural team with a workload of retail, mixed-use and urban regeneration projects.

Kevin Seggery

Director

Kevin began his career in private practice in Hertfordshire where he gained experience on office, hotel and residential projects before joining Saunders Partnership.

Kevin is now involved at a variety of stages on architectural projects predominately in the residential and retail sectors. Having developed these strengths over the years, Kevin became Director of the practice in 2002 and also oversees our growing B.I.M., 3D Visualisation teams as well as managing our extensive IT systems.

David Roles

Director

David began his career in private practice in Hertfordshire working on residential projects before moving to commercial practices in London where he worked on large residential, commercial and retail projects including schemes at Paddington Basin and Oxford Circus.
David joined Saunders Partnership in 1999 and is predominantly involved in construction projects. David has delivered a number of projects in A1, A3, A4 Retail, B1, B2, B8 Industrial, C2, C3 Residential, D1, D2 Education and Health service and also refurbishment. David became a Director in April 2010 and is responsible for the delivery of all construction projects, on site initiatives and Health and Safety for the practice.

Michael Burton

Director

Michael is a Chartered Architect with over 18 years experience in architectural practice. Michael joined Saunders Partnership in 2002, becoming an Associate Director in 2008 and a Senior Associate Director in 2014. He has accumulated a wide range of experience across a variety of sectors including retail, mixed use, residential and heritage from initial feasibility and concept development to planning and construction stages. Michael’s experience and attention to detail has ensured the success of numerous high quality and deliverable planning approvals within complex and challenging sites.

Chithra Marsh

Senior Associate Director and Business Development Director

Chithra joined Saunders Partnership in 2014. She is the Senior Associate Director responsible for the Manchester Office and Business Development Director supporting the business on a national basis.She is a qualified architect with 20 years’ post graduate experience in commercial practice working in both the private and public sectors. Her project experience includes for a wide range of uses: retail, residential, office, leisure, law & order, conservation and masterplanning. In particular, she specialises in client liaison, business development and marketing. Chithra is also passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with young people and raising awareness of careers in the sector. Since 2012, she has been a proud Ambassador for PLACED, a social enterprise that inspires young people about the built environment. She continues to be involved in a number of initiatives including design workshops, summer schools and also played an integral part in the Hidden Liverpool Schools programme which engaged young people in local developments through a series of design competition workshop during 2014. She is also supporting the Women in Property Education Roadshow team with a similar initiative to encourage more female students into all aspects of the building industry. She has recently become a member of the RIBA NW Practice Committee which represents all architectural businesses throughout the North West.

Matt Scott

BA(Hons) DipArch MA RIBA

Senior Associate Director

Matt joined Saunders in 2016 as Senior Associate Director and is responsible for the Bristol office. He is a chartered architect and urban designer with over 16 years experience, during this time he has worked for a number of successful practices, gaining a wealth of experience and a wide range of skills in both design and management.
He has experience across all sectors but has developed an expertise in residential masterplanning and residential led mixed use development together with the creative re-use of existing buildings, utilising the power of architecture to regenerate urban environments, creating exciting places and adding value. Matt creates pragmatic contemporary architecture that responds to its environment and wider context and is always shaped by a sustainable approach to design.
Through work at all stages of development from visioning and masterplanning through to detailed design and delivery, he has developed a thorough understanding of the development process, allowing him to create designs that balance both good place making and deliverability.

Polly Damen

BSc (Hons) BArch (Hons) AA RIBA

Senior Associate Director

Polly is a Senior Associate Director at Saunders Partnership and is responsible for our London Office. She is a Chartered Architect with over 20 years’ experience mainly in the residential sector from masterplanning to mixed-use high end apartment buildings and Listed Building Conversions.
Recently having worked on the 2,500 unit Clapham Park masterplan and was the lead designer on a detailed planning application for a 120 unit apartment building with retail, restaurant and spa facilities.
She has worked on the conversion of Listed Buildings, most notably the conversion of a Listed Convent in Ham, Richmond and Listed Almshouses for The Drapers’ in Tottenham. She lead the development and masterplanning of 850 new homes, a school and a marina in Lowestoft (featured in AJ Magazine) as well as the detail design of two residential towers in Croydon for Barratt Homes.

Polly won an competition for 1000 residential units including a landmark tower for Westfield in Stratford. She was also lead architect from inception to completion on 15 luxury apartments in Bayswater.

She also worked in Hong Kong working on luxury retail centres, and is fluent in French and Italian having lived and worked as an architect in Paris, Bordeaux and Milan.

Polly is a Freeman of the City.

Mark Montgomery

Associate Director

Mark joined Saunders in 1989 with previous architectural experience in Local Authority, public transport (London Underground) and Tesco Estates Division. The scope of works under these various employments included new build health centres and recreation buildings with the local authority under traditional contracts, new build and refurbishment of small to medium sized buildings associated with the running of the London underground both at remote sites and track-side.
Since joining Saunders, project involvement has predominantly been construction/delivery orientated and has included new build construction and refurbishment of a hospital, student accommodations, offices, residential, industrial and retail buildings for a number of clients and of varying size and complexity under traditional and Design & Build contracts, new build and refurbishment of a series of motor dealerships and associated buildings (including petrol filling stations) all under traditional contracts and for a long standing client and new build and refurbishment/conversion for housing and flats, again under traditional and Design and Build contracts.
Recent projects include new build town houses and flats in Clapham, South London for Crest Nicholson London, 115 mixed tenure apartments in Poplar, East London for Telford Homes and a 150,000 sqft mixed use retail and commercial development in Kings Lynn and a bespoke £1.7 million new build residence in St. Albans, Hertfordshire

Gavin Woodley

Gavin joined Saunders Partnership in 1997 becoming an Associate Director in 2003. He has accumulated a wealth of experience across a variety of sectors including retail, mixed use, commercial and residential developments over the last 24 years. working with major clients such as Tesco, Waitrose, Asda, Persimmon, Taylor Wimpey and several independent developers from initial feasibility through planning and into construction stages.
Most recently being successful with large complex schemes in Kings Lynn, Ely and Wisbech, Residential developments in Repton, Lakenheath and Tenterden as well as complicated sites in London.

Andrew Gibbins

MCIAT AaPS

Associate Director

Saunders welcomes back Andrew who previously worked at the Practice for over 16 years, predominantly working within the food retail sector and delivering over 30 stores of various sizes & complexity within a very demanding and fast track environment. At his time here he was also instrumental in setting up initiatives and policies including CDM, CAD, technical development and quality assurance. Before returning, Andrew worked in a London Practice focusing on their delivery workstream and most recently in an office based locally in Hertfordshire. He has also previously worked for a number of housing developers and smaller Practices working within a variety of sectors including commercial offices, industrial and private / social housing. He brings with him his vast experience and knowledge in construction gathered over 27 years and offers a proactive, practical and commercially aware approach whilst complementing the design to ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget. He has been a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists since 2004.

Chris Lenehan

BA(Hons) DipArch PG Dip ARB RIBA

Associate Director

Chris joined Saunders Partnership in 2010 with an architectural experience predominantly within the education sector. He has since developed a wealth of experience for a range of uses: retail, mixed use, residential and leisure. Having worked across all development stages from initial feasibility and concept development through to delivery, he has the ability to manage all aspects of the design process and fulfil client aspirations.
Recent projects include the development of a master plan for the regeneration of Kirkby Town Centre and the preparation, coordination and management of working drawings for the construction of circa 500 dwellings in Winchester.
Other projects include the development of a sports and leisure complex, numerous residential and commercial feasibility studies and the design presentations.

Robin Callister

BA(Hons) DipArch MA ARB RIBA

Associate Director

Robin has 15 years' experience as a residential healthcare architect. His experience includes designing extracare developments, retirement villages and care homes; as well as specialist residential developments for those suffering with dementia and brain injuries. His projects have ranged from 20 bed extracare facilities through to 240 bed assisted living developments. Robin, who is a fire-fighter in his spare time, is also a RIBA Part III External Examiner at Bristol and Oxford Brookes Universities.

Annabel Lait

MA(Hons) DipArch ARB RIBA

Associate Director

Annabel is a Chartered Architect and has experience across the education sector including nurseries, primary, secondary, higher and further education. She also has experience of complex high end residential schemes and larger mixed tenure housing projects. Her experience ranges from initial concept design, taking projects through the planning process, to project delivery on site. She is able to take a client’s brief and develop it working closely with the key stakeholders. She is design focussed has a keen eye for detail, continually focusing on delivering the client’s needs. Her portfolio includes projects which have won national awards. She has also been a design tutor for Architecture degree course at Cambridge University.

Graham Price

Associate Director

Graham is an Associate Director who has made a career in architectural technology since 1987, specialising in technical design and design management of residential developments through pre-construction and construction stages.
He has also worked on numerous projects within the care, commercial, leisure & retail sectors.
Graham has vast experience of working directly with Clients, alongside commercial / procurement and construction teams, and leading projects, design teams, consultants and subcontractor packages.

Andrew Allen

HND Industrial Design & Engineering

BIM Manager

Andrew joined Saunders Partnership in the spring of 2014 as BIM Manager. He has 11 years’ experience in architecture and IT. He has built up extensive and invaluable knowledge in domestic and commercial architecture with a wide variety of design, planning, construction and project management through his working career. He uses a wide variety of software including over 15 years’ experience using and teaching AutoCAD and 5 years using Revit utilising BIM standards. He has recently qualified through the BRE Academy as a BIM Accredited Professional.
His responsibilities at Saunders Partnership include; the management and implementation of BIM level 2 including supporting software for BIM, staying informed on best practices for Revit Architecture and BIM, creation of ongoing development of templates files to assured standards, internal training of staff including continuing monitoring and improvement of BIM, creation of Revit families to project needs, resolving BIM design issues and assisting on project modelling and detailing work.
Andrew has previously worked for small and large architects’ practices in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and London, running his own business for 5 years. He regularly attended client and site meetings to talk over self-prepared documentation and drawings for presentations, instructing builders, engineers and to liaise with main project management teams.
Andrew is a highly motivated and driven person, who is a logical with good communication skills and applies these attributes to all aspects of his work.

Marc Toombs

IT Manager

Marc joined Saunders Partnership in 2008 as IT Manager bringing with him a wealth of experience. Spending the early part of his career studying and working within the electronics industry he then moved into the IT support industry in the mid 90’s. He has continued to work within the IT sector ever since gaining over 20 years’ experience in various roles. Marc’s responsibilities include supporting and maintaining the IT & Communications systems across all 4 offices, delivering IT projects as well as implementing a technology roadmap for Saunders Partnership.

Alison Hodder

HR Manager

Alison has over 15 years of HR experience and joined Saunders Partnership in 2006. She performs a full and diverse range of human resources functions that support management and staff across all four offices.

Angela Hewitt

Admin & Accounts Manager

Angela has over 20 years of admin and finance experience and joined Saunders Partnership in 2001. Angela is responsible for the admin and accounts departments which provide support to all four offices.
