Saunders provided bid support and high level architectural input to develop a mixed use scheme on the site of an existing supermarket. The design includes circa 2000 new homes centred around a new pedestrian square and transport interchange. The square is bordered by a range of retail units, anchored by a Sainsbury’s and supported by smaller community stores, art installations and exhibitions. Above these are a range of key worker to larger PRS and private sale residential units in blocks, ranging in height from 8 to 24 storeys.

A series of key pedestrian routes fronted by smaller scale residential units address the adjoining conservation area. To the rear of the site residential blocks border the main rail line into London, centred around landscape gardens, avenue parking, private podiums and other external amenity spaces.
