Saunders Partnership were the appointed architects on this contemporary, environmentally efficient luxury family home.
With planning permission granted in late 2012, construction started in the spring of 2013.
The internal layout incorporates the requirements of modern family living whilst remaining aware of external views and privacy to neighbouring properties.
The house consists of an open–plan basement offering a multi-use space, gym, cinema room, storage and shower provision, accessible internally and by an external staircase shielded from the street by landscaping.
The ground floor consists of an open plan Kitchen/ Dining/ Living space with folding doors out to the rear garden and decking. Additional spaces include a Family Room, Study, utility Space and WC, with a cantilevered stair within the full height light well creating a stunning feature at the heart of the house.
The first floor provides 4 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms with a walk-in wardrobe to the master bedroom.
A further 2 bedrooms, bathroom and storage are provided within the roof space.
Brickwork, areas of white render, inset timber cladding and slate are used to ensure that the dwelling, whilst of contemporary design, is part of the existing fabric of the street, with a sustainable green roof to the garage continuing the greenery of the hedge directly in front of the property.
