The proposed buildings, up to four storeys in height, respond sensitively to the adjoining Conservation Area and improve the natural surveillance to the existing residential road beyond. Landscaping references the historical cultivation of lavender in the area and the communal garden provides varied soft and hard landscaping areas for residents to sit out and children to play. The scheme creates a sense of place and a unique character within the area, responding to complex constraints of a narrow site and significant level changes.
